Injured Vets Not a Priority for Obama

When I heard Barack Obama had planned a trip to visit Landstuhl Military Hospital in Germany, I knew from personal experience how much of a lift it would have given the hundreds of soldiers recovering from war wounds there. As fate would have it, I was sent to Landstuhl two years ago, after my lower legs were shattered by shrapnel from a mortar round in Iraq.

After undergoing surgery, I spent nearly a month as a bedridden patient in the recovery care unit, uncertain whether or not I would ever walk again.

It was around July 4th and I was feeling down, alone in a hospital room in Germany without family or friends.

The days all ran together, until a big cowboy hat poked through the door of my hospital room. At first I thought it was the painkillers playing tricks on me, but it was Nashville songwriter Thom Shepherd and his band, the Nashville Songwriters...

A Nashville band can make an unscheduled trip to a veteran's hospital, but a visit is too much to ask of a man who wants to be Commander in Chief?

B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken) Obama could care less about the troops.

After all, he did his best to undermine their efforts and give 'aid and comfort' to the enemy by PUBLICING opposing their mission in Iraq!!!

.....PUBLICLY.....

What do Obama and Osama have in common?

They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon.

As for what it means to visit the injured soldiers in the hospital....

I once hired a guy who had been an Army Ranger. He parachuted into the airport in Panama City, and was wounded during the firefight. In his office, he had a picture frame that included: The Purple Heart, the Citation, and a photograph taken at Walter Reed Medical Center. In the photo, he was in the hospital bed. At one side was his wife, on the other side was President & Mrs. Bush. I almost cried. I know what that meant.

I also know that Obama has absolutely no clue about the sacrifice of these heroes for our country. He is unfit to be their commander in chief.

First, Joshua, thank you for your bravery and courage in the service to our country. I pray that you have since regained the use of your legs and thank you for serving in a tough war that too many people don’t understand and won’t appreciate you for serving in. May you always know the gift of God’s blessings.

As for Obama, if I didn’t already know what kind of duplicitous fraud and anti-American he was, this story would underscore what a miserable coward he is. It angers me that a sitting senator has drunk so much of his own kool-aid that he can’t make the time to visit the very people whose scrifice have made it possible for him to be where he is.

If I say anymore, not only will I be banned for life, my children, their children and THEIR children will all be banned for life.

Twenty-four months ago, Iraq was in trouble and two men saw different options. Sen. Barack Obama had his pull-out plan designed to push ahead with a speedy withdrawal of U.S. troops. Sen. John McCain championed a surge approach to boost troop levels and get the Al Qaeda-backed insurgents and terrorists under control to help give the Iraqi Army more time to get ready to tackle them. Over a year since the surge, and while we are still in Iraq, the government there is still in control and the Iraqi Army is gelling into an effective fighting force.

If we had left Iraq, the Iraqi Army would be in chaos, the government would have collapsed, outright civil war would have erupted, oil might be at $300 a barrel, and Iran would effectively control the Middle East.

Obama was wrong on Iraq, and his inexperience would have cost us, the region and the world economy. It’s about getting it right and not just about hope.
