Agree- I thought the statement from the president was a low blow. He’s been calling for this to be voted on- he yelled at Congress for leaving before voting- and then makes the statement calling them back wouldn’t do any good. HUH? Even IF he didn’t plan to call em back- surely there was a way to simply offer his support for what the House guys are doing.

Sometimes I just shake my head..

IMHO I think the president is letting the republicans get their message across — I think W wants the dems to suffer on this one. If he steps in and calls them back, then it gives fodder to the dems and MSM and they once again can bleam “Bush’s failed policies”. With the republicans taking the lead, the dems look stupid and the pubbies look like the gladiators. Just my opinion.

That’s not exactly it. Bush WANTS the Dems home to catch hell from their constituents while the Republicans in Washington get all the news cycle, such that there is.
