" ... MO: Why do you think the mainstream media hasn’t reported on these stories of Obama’s career in Chicago? Your book references many stories from the Chicago Sun-Times. Why does the national media ignore it?
DF: Well, unfortunately, I think the national media -- which resides largely in New York and Washington and perhaps out West in Los Angeles -- doesn’t look at or read the Chicago papers nearly as much as they should ...

If that reply wasn't tongue in cheek, it is an absolute lie.

I grew up downstate in Illinois. Even 50 years ago, everyone, including kids, knew how it worked in Chicago. I lived a block from and went to school with someone who grew up to be a top reporter for ABC News (now retired). If I knew and he knew, why would someone still working as a journalist in NYC not know? And how much would have actually been published in the Chicago papers, anyway? Does this mean that intrepid journalists need to read the hometown rags in order to know how things work somewhere? Is that what *investigative* means?

I mentioned to a liberal that Obama’s campaign for Senate managed to get divorce records unsealed in a case where there were minor children, in order to get his opponent out of the race. That liberal was not surprised, did not ask me for proof and, in fact, just nodded at the comment. They do not reside in Chicago and do not read the Chicago papers. Neither do I. It was national news, it was spun to look like there was nothing out of the ordinary about the procedure and it was just a few years ago.

You are correct: this is an absolute lie.
