OGDENSBURG, N.Y. — A veteran state trooper and a civilian were electrocuted while fixing a flat tire on an antique fire truck when the truck's ladder touched a high-voltage power line, police said.

The fact that this one did is an anomaly, and if we have to have cops, this may have been a bad one to lose.

I can ‘ditto’ your comment. In fact I’ve mentioned it before. I have seen a lot of cops go over the line but I have NEVER seen a NYS Trooper conduct himself un professionally.
This one is not anomaly for NYS Troopers. He was just doing what I see troopers do almost every day I’m on the interstate.
We live very close to one and being so far out in the middle of nowhere, use it all the time so, yes, I do see these guys doing this virtually daily.
Damn, the title was a bit ambiguous. I was hoping it wasn’t fatal. Prayers for the families.
