Rush was never interested in doing anything about illegal immigration until it became painfully obvious that he had missed one of the larger grassroots movements in the last decade. At that point he was waddling as fast as he could yelling “wait! wait! I’m your leader....”

I can vouch for that, having listened to Rush at that time, and having heard a few callers take him to task on that issue. Naturally, Limbaugh dismissed them as kooks and cited the gravitas of September 11th, if even in 2005.

That’s harsh. You only say that because he got a doctor’s excuse to get out of serving in the Army when he was drafted. Or because he never bothered to vote until he was 38 and never volunteered to get anyone elected. Or because he seems to think Dubai is an American State. Or because...
