I think that this is the hidden reason for the Feds previously not cracking down harder on illegals. Send back 10-20 million illegals, remove remittances, which is mexico's largest source of income and you have a major fubar. Calderon won the last election over a commie by a slim majority and we don't want a castro type state on our southern border.

We are basically providing a safety valve to keep mexico from exploding.

If Mexico is a threat, we need a buffer state. Let’s make one out of Chihuahua and Sonora. Throw in Baja California too for good measure.

“We are basically providing a safety valve to keep mexico from exploding.” Send them back anyway and seal the damn border. We’re enabling their corrupt government. And maybe things will get better and maybe they won’t - long as the border is sealed - its their problem.

With illegal Mexicans back in Mexican, you've got the fubar outside the country, south of The Rio Grande. With them here, you've got the fubar in your living room. While Mexico's dysunction will always effect us, best to keep it as far away as possible.

That’s a very cogent—and scary—argument. I am stridently anti-leftist. I may be unhappy about illegal immigration, but a Castro type in Mexico would be even worse.
