Congress has passed no meaningful energy legislation to move us towards lower gas prices and more American energy and now has recessed for a 5 week break. Republicans, including yours truly, wanted to speak more about that on the floor of the House this afternoon. The Pelosi majority took the unusual step of calling for immediate adjournment to prevent these speeches from going forward and turned off the cameras and microphones on the House floor.
Its one thing to not allow a vote on more energy production. Its another to not even allow people to speak about it. I and several dozen others are speaking on the House floor right now to a gallery full of cheering people to demand that Speaker Pelosi allow a vote on more American energy production. No TVs. No microphones.
You can turn off the lights, but you cannot silence the will of the American people.

If you don’t mind, I’m going to put this up again, those who are on Facebook, MySpace or Twitter, please give your rep a heads up.
The RNC is on both MySpace and Facebook. A “High-Five” for these reps to them would be nice too.

Ya’ gotta hand it to SanFranNan. She’s one vindictive, vengeful LibTard. While presiding over the least effective House legislative session in history, and successfully driving the public’s approval rating of Congress to an all time low, she gets in the last laugh by shutting off the lights while the Repubs are trying to get a word in edgewise...
Absolutely shameful. But, then, she’s trying to save the world. That takes a lot out of a gal...

Maybe it's time for the RNC to resurrect the "Lights out... 3 AM phone call". Which Party cares more about the well-being of your family?

I think I heard the President say that Congress needs to get busy after their five week vacation. Which indicates that he is not going to call them back to DC.

Everyone should watch it the video of the news conference last night, it makes you proud(link is on an above post). Call your reps, call dems and demand Pelosi come back and do the people's work, and call the republicans and tell then you are proud of them. If you don't know the numbers of the fierce 50 then call the house leader and the house whip(republican leader and whip).
Also call Nancy her self, we filled her voice mail up yesterday and we need to keep hammering her. Call President Bush and let him know he needs to call a special session. It is largely in our hands and we need to keep the pressure on.

Call President Bush and let him know he needs to call a special sessionA special session would do some serious damage to the socialist Democratic strategy. Guess we know the issue that Democrats think they might loose on.

If the Republicans had wanted to make this out to be more than a stunt, they should have stayed longer than 5:00 o'clock last night. They should have stayed at least thru midnight to drive the point home, or at least thru Nancy Pelosi’s heart (if she had one), or longer.

Uh...yep. I have to agree with that. And, now, they aren’t even taking advantage of their own stunt. They aren’t running ads everywhere touting the DhimmiRat action to adjourn, despite a crisis that demands action.
Sad. Simply sad. I fear for the future of the republic.

The Republicans need real leaders who will stand up for what is right and not back down. Let's get back to black and white issues (right and wrong, not race) not shades of grey.
Also noticed that even Fox News online barely covered the stunt... Even somewhat favorable media ignored it. I pray that true leaders will emerge, eventually.

Excuse me, did you miss the link to the video of the press conference they held last night after they left the floor? The members of the house that is. Watch the video. The republicans are touting it, the news media is refusing to run with it, at least not much of it.
The republicans are also going to return to the floor monday and they plan on staying in DC until Pelosi returns or the recess ends.
They also sent a large letter to Bush asking him to gavel in a special session. We need to do our part and encourage the republicans and castigate the dems.
Call Nancy and demand she return to the house to do the people's work. As far as them not staying past 5 they were without food, and they would have been locked in for the weekend. I suppose you would like to go all weekend without food? Quit whining, both of you, and do something! Especially go to the link on this thread and watch the news conference video, and then call the republican house leader at 202-225-0197 and give praise, try not to whine when you call.
