Chanting vote now.”
Update 4@1:10pm CDT An email from a Hill insider says, “We’re here for the haul. Blunt just called in to order pizza.” Nice.
Update 3@1:01pm CDT Politico reports:
Republicans are literally hugging each other on the House floor. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.), not normally known as an distinguished orator, just gave a rousing speech, accusing Democrats of stifling dissent. He referenced President John Quincy Adams, who returned as a House member after being defeated in his bid for re-election as president. Waving his arms and yelling, Manzullo brought the crowd (including a lot of staff shipped in by GOP leaders to fill up the place), and he left the floor to hugs from his colleagues. You don’t see that up here every day.
Further, see below the fold for the latest, which you won’t want to miss, from Rep. Nuñes (R-CA).
Update 2@12:47pm CDT: The New Media-savvy Rep. John Culberson (R-TX) is Tweeting and broadcasting via Qik from the House.
Update@12:17pm CDT: The Whip’s office just sent the following email:
House Democrats are no where to be found. House Republicans are on the Floor willing and ready to work to lower the price of gas at the pump.
GO SEAN!!!!!!!
