His opening was just an announcement; further discussion later, fairly objective, this is what happened kind of thing. The panel later discussed .. Fred Barnes said it was a stunt but sometimes stunts work. I think what the R’s did today was WELL worth it. If nothing else, as you can see just by browsing this thread, it’s energized ‘the base.’
I saw the panel. Fred Barnes said that stunts usually work for liberals but rarely for conseravatives b/c of media.
That’s the whole deal. If the media would have jumped on this like they would have if it had been a Democrat “stunt” it would have been a major turning point. It could have been huge.
