Instead of “comprehensive” bills. why doesn’t the GOP simply call the Dems bluff? Offer one small simple bill, that only does one thing: opens up off-shore drilling. The Dems say it won’t lower oil and gas prices. Make this deal (VERY PUBLICLY) If the Dems allow the bill to pass, and prices don’t fall, then the GOP will pass billions in appropriations for alternative sources, raising taxes on oil companies, etc.
