First one was Myrtle Beach, S.C. - first week in June
Second was Sister Lakes near Dowagiac, Michigan - late July
We live in central Ohio and for the first vacation I remember paying in the high $3/gallon in Ohio, about $3.70 in S.C.
On the way home it was $4.09 in West Virginia, and got $3.85 just over the Ohio border.
I was somewhat dreading the gas cost for the second vacation with the real possibility of even higher prices. But I was pleasantly surprised with a drop in prices for the later vacation. My dismal outlook wasn't justified - the market didn't support those higher prices.
