Sen. Barbara Boxer is aggressively raising money in anticipation of a tough 2010 reelection bid that could pit her against the political star-power of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The California Democratic senator reported $3.5 million in cash on hand, compared with just $1 million at a similar point before she won her third term in 2004, according to campaign filings.

Barbara Boxer’s record in office is completely appalling. Schwarzenegger’s is merely bad. So in 2010, I hope California conservatives bring clothing pins to wear on their noses when they’re in the voting booth to vote for the RINO.

It’s a sad state of affairs in California that this is what voters have to settle for.

I don’t see a dime’s worth of difference between the two of them though, on a partisan level I’d like to see Boxer defeated, but I don’t see that advancing the Conservative Ball anywhere down the field.

I’d love to see the loathsome Barbara Boxer defeated, but surely there could be a better R. opponent than the arch-liberal Ahnold.

Ahnold wants to be closer to Uncle Teddy for those family picnics.

Arnold is exactly the kind of "R" that the GOP likes to back. They don't like to back conservatives for political offices.

If they did, we would have a conservative Governor here in Calif.

“Where is Bruce Herschensohn?”

He’s now an author who specializes in foreign policy issues. You’re right that he was great, but I doubt that he’d want to run for public office at this point in his life (he’s 76/o).

Wouldn’t that swap be like an old BLUE wreck for an old RED wreck?
The outcome is you still have an OLD WRECK.....

Would a Governor Boxer have signed the order to cut all state employees down to minimum wage until the budget is passed? There are big differences, though they may not be evident to social conservatives.

US Senator is a natural job for Arnold - he can use his celebrity to the party's advantage without having any responsibility to actually accomplish anything. ;)

"when barbara dropped the bomb on the tv that bruce had looked at porno."

He should have said that they were porn films of Barbara Boxer, they were really really bad, and the experience made him swear off porn forever. Indeed, that it almost made him swear off sex forever.

He still may have lost but it would have been an entertaining spectacle to watch the media apoplexy.

Oh, boy, Boxer or ARRRRRnold. Wow, what a choice we are given here. I would vote for Arnold simply because Boxer needs to go. Maybe we can recall AS after a short time.

Arnold was an improvement over Gray Davis. He would be an improvement over Barbara Boxer. It would be hard to set the bar much lower.

I am sorry but if you think Arnold is actually an improvement over Gray Davis you haven’t been keeping your eye on the economic situation in CA. We have more debt than we did with Davis, yes he was bad but he didn’t just give up the way Arnold did. ARRRRRnold sucks and the sooner he is gone the better. McClintock is the man we should have voted in.
