I can’t blame Obama because he was adopted by his Malaysian step dad when Obama was 3 years old. This is silly.
Obama is a natural born American. End of story.
He never tried to hide his name in Malaysia. He had no connection to his stepfather when he divorced his mother.

If he was legally adopted by his step-father Soetero, as has been reported, then it is highly likely he was also made into an Indonesian citizen. I would like to know how often any child of any nationality gets adopted by a step-parent or adoptive parent of another nationality and does not also become a citizen (even if a dual-citizen) of that country. I’ll bet that’s an unlikely event and that he did become an Indonesian citizen (dual-citizen), even if he had no say in the matter at the tender age of 6.
This may not go at all to the issue of eligibility under the US Constitution, but IF in fact he is or has been a citizen of Indonesia, that is a highly relevant fact of his background that he seems to have buried, despite writing TWO memoirs. As I said in a post above, it may well be the cover-up and deception that is the main issue now. I have not seen any reason to really doubt that he was/is a natural born US citizen and thus constitutionally eligible, but I think a lot of people would be surprised, maybe very disturbed, if he were a dual-citizen with Indonesia and concealed that fact. It’s the deception......
