A police SWAT team raided the home of the mayor in the Prince George's County town of Berwyn Heights on Tuesday, shooting and killing his two dogs, after he brought in a 32-pound package of marijuana that had been delivered to his doorstep, police said.

but i do think drug dealers should be taken off the streets. if this was a set-up, it was done by someone other than the cops because there was no arrest made.
Funny, there were 60 lbs just last week. ;-)
The guy turned in the 32 pounds of pot to the cops before they raided his house and killed his dogs. Try reading the story before you start calling people drug dealers and drug users.
as i have been saying, there was no arrest made so it leads me to believe that the cops were tipped by someone who sent it and the family was not complicit. perhaps.
A drug dog hit on the package in Arizona, and the authorities there passed it on to the MD police who delivered the package to his doorstep and waited for someone to bring it in the house. Then they raided.
It was a set up.
Right. The Berwyn cops weren’t notified; it was a Prince Georges County police and sheriff op.
In “unrelated” later news, the Prince Georges County police chief just announced his retirement.
More dogs murdered for our stupid failed war on some drugs.
Maybe it’s been a War on Dogs all along, instead of a War on Drugs?
Boy you come out looking pretty stupid since I guess you didn’t read the article based on your stupid arse question. You government fascist lovers will go to all lengths to support your God won’t ya? Pray to your fascist government and their expensive weaponry and toys to reign over you supreme.
Read the article now and wise up.
Why didn’t they just knock with a search warrant. It was the mayor for heaven’s sake and he was going to flush 37 lbs in mere seconds.
It was answering a pithy remark with another pithy remark.
And considering I think the drug war is an abysmal failure and that pot should be legalized I wouldn’t give a damn if someone in my family bought weed. I don’t care if they buy booze, and that actually kills people.
um, i did. he picked up the package, placed it on his table and went upstairs. then the raid. nowhere does it say he turned in the drugs.
MJ is about as harmless a drug as they get. Alcohol is much worse for you. I drink beer and don't smoke pot but if you think this type of think is justified for pot you are one wrong thinking, tyranny loving person, IMO. Even if this mayor proves out to be innocent, this was way to much and totalitarian in its nature.
As far as asking Nate505 if he would take a toke, wow, yeah how evil is a person who would smoke MJ. We need to shoot every MJ users dogs immediately if not sooner.
Hopefully you are never on the wrong end of one of these swat team raids, which have killed many innocent people over the years, but of course a few innocents are a small price to pay for stamping out the evil MJ smokers right? I don't think it is worth the price for stamping out any drug use, but what the he** that is JMO.
For real?
“but now you’ll tell me that the cops planted the 32 pounds of weed simply to discredit him and had no intention of bringing him in.”
Nope, I never said that.
OMG! That’s hysterical!
“Couldnt a regular warrant done the job?”

Well of course it could have. But then they wouldn’t get to play with their toys, would they?
This trend is dangerous and reeks of Stasi tactics.
Seems like a pleasant place. I did a quick search on the crime rate there. Apparently last year they did see an increase in crime, although it wasn’t really major crimes. There were no reported rapes or murders there. My point is that in a town that seems to be pretty safe, why is a SWAT team needed to raid the mayor’s house out of all places?
