Please Pray for my husband Dom.He is 50 and had a stroke on Sunday.I have been a freeper for awhile and find enjoyment and great information from my fellow freepers. My husband worked all his life, seven days a week, but we can not afford health insurance and a mortgage.I am so worried about my husband ,he has no vision or hearing in his left side and cannot walk.He also has vertigo, all from the stroke.I was told by the hospital they can take my house and all we saved if I don't make payment.I have been hearing this since Sunday.I have young children and I'm a mess .Please pray for my husband he really needs it.I am sorry if I posted wrong .I am not thinking clearly.Getting him well is what's important. Thank you
I’ll be praying for you and your family. Looks like FR has come through with lots of good advice from others - I hope it all helps.
Patricia Mary, we will keep Dom and you and your family in our prayers. I am also 50 and this can be extremely scary. A close friend had a minor stroke when she was only 38. No ill effects afterwards but there was a lot of concern with 3 small kids at the time and that she wouldn’t recover back to 100%.
May Dom fully recover healthier than before. And may you worry only about what you can control. The rest is in God’s hands so doesn’t require worry.
Prayers for you, Don and your children and other loved ones. If you don’t mind some advice: Don’t sign anything you don’t have to without getting good information from a second source. Have someone close to you be in charge of looking out for the financial situation. It is so hard to do so while you are concentrating on the medical problems. Use a sibling, trusted friend or someone willing and able to hold your hand through this and get information to you.
Prayers are going up now for your husband, yourself and the rest of your family.
I am also pinging Brad’s Gramma, the holder of a wonderful prayer ping list.
I’m praying for you and your husband.
Very probably a very unwise move. That could constitute fraud under state and/or Federal law.
You have my prayer.
If Dom is a veteran, please get ahold of the VA.
Praying for your husbands recovery and that the Lord will point you towards an honest attorney who will protect you from the hospital.
I second that, and add the suggestion that you carefully record whatever information you can about the care that was provided to your husband, which doctor did and said what when, etc. That will help you stay organized and guide his care in a very difficult time, and it could be of great help to you and your attorney if it turns out that there are questions later about what services the hospital actually provided, if they were necessary, if mistakes were made (hopefully not!!) and so on.
Somebody at the hospital is being overly agressive on the money front -- that usually indicates some weakness in their internal organization -- perhaps a need to raise money due to their own errors or financial troubles. Find an attorney who will really advocate for you -- the kind of attorney who isn't afraid to stand up to the hospital, and take care of you and your husband's interests first and foremost. Personally I'd try to find an attorney who has sued and won against the hospital, or the doctors that work there -- that sends a strong message to them.
Our Prayers for Don - Can your your husband speak? I would be happy to provide Touch & Talk for him. As an EMT I wrote this software for a very special stroke patient here in our Ambulance service coverage area.
You can view T&T at www.touchntalk.com
Prayers for you & yours. They’re not gonna take your house, take some of the good advice offered here.
A hospital can't talk. One or more individual people told you this. Get their names and write down who said what, and send this info by certified mail/return receipt to the person in charge of the hospital's legal department (if you can't find this info on the hospital's website, call their main number and when you get the contact name and title (position), also get the name of the person who told you this contact info.
You’re in my prayers, and you have FReepmail.
California put a $100,000 lien on my sister’s house when she was treated for cancer. She and her husband were self-employed.
Prayers lifted for you, your family and most of all, your husband. I pray that God will bless you and prosper you so that your financial worries can also ease.

Prayers for your husband, children and you!
Can’t you find a more appropriate thread to be an ass on?
