Yea, but how fast can it go? And how much can it lift?
It looks like he’s stuck between a 2 pce drum set.
I like it.
Just think, you could play the drum solo from "In a Gadda da Vida" while flying at 500 feet! ;o)
Sure, that sounds like something you would strap your 16 year old into, not. Two gas powered fans that can take him up to 1000 feet. keep in mind they can take him 1000 feet in any direction, including sideways and down in a hurry.
I wonder if there are tort lawyers somewhere out there funding this project through 3rd-parties.
The first time one of these things fails...
He said it can stay up for 30 minutes....
Sounds like if you had a failure on either side at 100 feet it would be catastrophic. A plane can glide albeit some have to keep a dangerously steep glide path to avoid stall speed. A helicopter with a large rotor has some rotor lift left after engine failure but these little rotors would instantly cease providing lift.
Imagine it mass produced. Machinery and body parts raining from the sky... Very Futurama-ish.
Then what? It doesn't look like it will aid much in a slow glide back to earth. It doesn't look like a "new" invention either. It looks more like designs found in mechanics illustrated magazines in the 50's that sparked Red Forman's imagination.
I was thinking Metallica’s “4 Horsemen”, but that’ll do as well.
Jet Pack International has a craft, but it only flies for thirty seconds. This one sounds cool. I could fly to work from my house.
Practical? Skeptical...
Ask and you shall receive...
Not quite that exciting of a video, though. Definitely two guys holding the wee tyke to the earth.

(Anyone know why youtube now says uk?)
A much cooler jetpack video. Nice house, too.

And one more, just because this is really cool:

16 year old’s fly ultralights.
I used to drive a boat, with a V-8, do about 50, at night, as fast as it would go, when I was a kid.
I saw two people fly over the cove, several times, about 100 feet high, with weedwacker motors spinning props, and a parafoil strapped on.
I’ve flown strapped to a kite, about 100 feet high, behind a boat.
These are the things a 16 year old, or 12 year old’s dreams are made of.
