Reminds me of our late, great Golden Retriever, Prior Lake Jake. Jake liked nothing better than to go out on the winter ice to visit the ice fishermen on Prior Lake and beg a beer and a brat, if they had any.
He didn't care much for Schnapps but, if the beer can were carefully tipped in his direction, he would consume a full can of whatever was available, without spilling more than a few drips. Half way through a second 12 oz can would usually bring a series of burps, nose bubbles and sneezes. Afternoons were scheduled inside, with a big nap...

I wish I could have met Jake! He sounds like the Perfect Golden.

I used to ride a horse, an ex-racing Quarter Horse, that LOVED beer. He would stick his head out the stall door and whinny if he smelled any (and he could apparently smell it at 50 yards, with the cap still on the bottle).

I asked my vet if it would do him any harm to give him some. When she stopped laughing, she said as long as we didn't set him so drunk that he fell over, it was probably good for his digestion.

So we would wrap a leg bandage or a towel around the neck of the bottle and tip it on up, and Mister would glug a couple of glugs and it was gone!
