The gun was described as a large shotgun or a pellet gun with a light on the end of it. It wasn't clear if the light was a laser site or a flashlight, officers said.
...
The shooting, they said, happened within a matter of seconds of the officer's arrival and the gun was recovered. IOW they know if it was a pellet gun or a shotgun, or an air-soft gun or whatever, but they aren't saying. Interesting. I'd think if it was a shotgun, it would have been laid out on a table and photographed, or at least held up over someones head and photographed.

However, rolling in on a call of a 'drunk' 'brandishing' a large 'weapon', I don't blame the cop for not taking any chances. I admit to being one who normally disbelieves the initial story given out by our vaunted Law ENFORCEMENT Officers, but like the Marines in Haditha I'll back the cop as his perception at that time under those conditions would permit the use of deadly force. JMHO. And yes, they should have shown the 'weapon' at the briefing; stupid "Blue Line" attitude!
