Please add me to the Navair ping list. I’m a retired sailor who served on three carriers during the 80’s and 90’s (CV-67, CVN-68, CVN-69).

As a note to anyone who may be interested, although most of us have served in Navair, the only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.

Following a man into battle is a far cry from turning over our family’s security and future well being to be managed by him. I would have gladly followed Patton on his campaigns of WWII but I sure as hell would not have trusted his judgment on the day to day and personal well being of my grandmother. We “purists” just happen to be critical thinkers (something that is no longer taught in our government schools) and make our judgments on the whole pie instead of just the last piece we were last served. McCain’s legislative history has trampled on our first ammendment rights, tried to pull a fast one on amnesty, blocked our ability to be energy independent, hijacked the ability of conservatives to break judicial fillibusters and the list goes on. Just as our Maker will pass judgment on the totality of one’s life, so must we. It is a non starter to even think about voting for the idiot and empty suit called Obama, but it is up to John McCain himself to earn our vote. The issue is in his hands to make sure we show up at the voting booth and not just our duty to cast a vote against a possible tyrant. If we end up with the tyrant, it is just as much McCain’s and the Republican Party’s fault for not energizing us beyond those actions for which he is a true military hero. Please, everyone remember that Benndict Arnold was once an American hero before he too turned to the dark side for his own selfish gains. Military heroism is most often not a calculated event. but McCain’s legislative shortcomings most certainly are..

So are you going to throw your vote away on Bob Barr, Ron(Pat)Paul(son)?

If Obama is elected, anyone who did not vote for McCain(who I have no love for) will still be dead to me.

I was in the Navy on the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) in the early 80’s and a still vividly remember watching the video of this as part of our damage control training. May all who lost their lives rest in eternal peace.

Anyone who sends me the words "Add me to the Navair Pinglist" is in. If you have enough interest to ping me, that's good enough for me. I like having non-Airedale members, it broadens the viewpoint and data base on the threads,

Do you want on the list?

Sorry, but you forgot to add the 'navair' keyword to this thread! I caught it for ya, tho. ;^)

The keyword "aerospace" has also been added to this article. If anyone happens to come across an article that would interest the aerospace community, please tag it! If you want to read articles relating to aerospace then search for the keyword aerospace You can then bookmark the page for easy future access.

Now you can even add "aerospace" (or "navair') to your sidebar! Click on the keyword search link above, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on "Add to My Page". Thanks!

I would have gladly followed Patton on his campaigns of WWII but I sure as hell would not have trusted his judgment on the day to day and personal well being of my grandmother. ...... We “purists” just happen to be critical thinkers (something that is no longer taught in our government schools) and make our judgments on the whole pie instead of just the last piece we were last served.

"Critical thinker", are you?

Did your school skip teaching "logical thinking" altogether?

There are three ways to cast your vote in November's election:

or

or

If you are left of center, two of those choices will help put McCain in the White House.

If you are right of center, two of those choices wil help put Obama in the White House.

You "purists", because you claim you are so "critical", have made it clear that your vote in November will be going here:

You are thereby actively helping to make the next President of the United States

It is true that "our Maker will pass judgment on the totality of one’s life".

When you get to Judgment Day, you will then have the chance to explain your "critical thinking" by explaining why you helped keep a man with NARAL Pro-Abortion Rating of ZERO out of the White house and helping put this man in the White House:

NARAL Pro-Choice America Endorses Sen. Barack Obama!

How will your "critical thinking" explain on Judgment Day that you would rather see million of unborn die that vote for a man that allegedly "blocked our ability to be energy independent" by only pushing nuclear power and off-shore drilling except for drilling in ANWR?

Is that what your defense would boil down to?

"I would have rather seen millions of unborn die because he would not drill for oil in ANWR. He would only drill offshore everywhere else and that just wasn't good enough for a 'critical thinker' like me."

"I would have rather seen millions of unborn die because he 'insulted conservatives' and I'm a conservative and my ego is MUCH more important than the lives of millions of the unborn."

"Critical thinking".

Yeah, right. Good luck with your "critical thinking" come Judgment Day when "our Maker will pass judgment on the totality of one’s life,"

This is the Navy fire fighting film I remember seeing at 18. Man that seems like a long time ago. Even this has been pretty well cut up.

Chill!

I know who I’m going to vote for and there is only one logical choice at this point, but John must be made aware that he cannot count on it just because the other choices are so horrible. The only choice that scares the hell out of the McCain camp is the one for “none of the above” because it is like losing two votes instead of just one. We have the power to jerk this legislative dufus into respecting the conservatives who he counted on to get where he is today and has consistently dumped on since.

The larger problem is that DC is full of people just like him and the only way we can begin to wake them up is not to blindly and automatically make a public declaration of support. If they can’t count on it they will work much harder and seriously to secure it.

John has not learned that lesson yet (but he is beginning to hear us) and he needs to sweat it out all the way to November 4th. Let it be as much of a surprise for him as it is for the MSM.

In that case, you are far more logical than the majority of the anti-McCain "purists" on FR who cite such reasons as not drilling in ANWR and a so-called "Amnesty", that looks draconian against illegals in comparison to what Ronald Reagan actually signed into law, as perfectly good reasons to flush their votes down the toilet in November and help put Obama in the White House.

McCain might be far from perfect but, in the Big Picture, he is FOR a strong America and not AGAINST a strong America.

From now until November, we are in battle against Obama for the future of America. When, in battle, even if the guy in the foxhole next to you cheated you at poker, kicked your girlfriend and raped your dog, you help him as you both fight the oncoming enemy charge and, after the battle is won, you then have the luxury to beat the cr@p out of him.

Pure unabashed hyperbole. McCain is as bad or worse than Obama and if he were elected, voters won’t have any more influence on him than they would Obama as President, probably even less. McCain has been haunting the D.C. beltway for 30 years with liberal ideas and actions. He’s experienced at sinking knives in fellow republicans’ backs and he’s still at it. This idea that we voters can change him is right out of the battered wives handbook. You McCainbots are pathetic enablers to a repeat offender of liberalism.
