I believe it was 8.9 and I meant to say 1994 (not 2004). January 17, 1994 at 4:31am. I had to get 19 stitches from lacerations I received while trying to escape the building. Ugh. I don’t like earthquakes. The 1994 Northridge quake was a 6.7
If California gets hit by an 8.9 it will cease to exist as we know it.

It won’t be pretty. But the reason we fare better than other earthquake prone countries is that we have very STRICT building codes. The most stringent in the country.
