Correction: Having said that, you should point out that the cop is a criminal and no better than any other criminal charged with assault in NYC. Any cop that covers for him is also a criminal. Taking away his badge should be only the beginning and this man should do jail time for what was an obvious attempt to injure another human.

if these guys are shutting down traffic all over the city for kicks, it would seem the cops would be called out to shut them down or at least keep some order. For all you know a mile up the road this guy could have done any number of things to warrant a radio call to this cop. The cop could have even been yelling for the guy to stop
When you have an organized group passing through town ignoring stop signs and turn signals I have no problem with civil authorities using physical force to stop them.
Period.
And I don’t really give a crap how fond anarchy is among your personal values Loyd. I know what Critical Mass is, what it does, and what their goal is.
I will agree he should have shouted stop, and then tasered the guy when he didn’t stop, instead of body checking him when he didn’t stop - that way the cop would be less likely to get diseases from touching him.
