As Senator Barack Obama turns to the choice of his running mate, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has emerged as one of the campaign’s potential finalists, sources familiar with conversations in Richmond and in Chicago said.
Kaine, an early Obama supporter whose biography nicely dovetails with the Illinois senator’s, "ranks very, very high on the short list," said a source who has spoken recently to senior Obama aides about Kaine.
Kaine "is getting a critical examination," the source said.

I don’t know much about Kaine, but that’s true about Pawlenty. He’s never won a majority of the vote here. He won in 2002 mostly due to a former DFL Congressman running strong third party campaign and in 2006 by hair after his opponent called a reporter a “whore” just days before the election.
McCain will almost definitely loose Minnesota, with or without Pawlenty. We have the longest unbroken streak of voting Democrat for President; the last Repubican who won MN was Nixon in 1972. In fact, the other other Republican to win MN since Hoover was Eisenhower.
The title of the article/review is obscene, as are most of the comments.
I got into an arguement with an idjit from Maryland the other day about the ponies. The VA ponies are healthy, well cared for and seen by a vet at least once a year. The MD ponies are naty looking creatures and pumped full of birth control to keep the population down. The auction tomorow is how the VA herd size remains within the federal guidelines.
