Speaking of old electronics... the first color TV we had was a HUGE 24 Heathkit that my dad put together. Made in USA baby, as a kit... remember those days?
My first memories started in the early 1980s, so no, I don't. I'm familiar with the old Heath kit. What my grandparents had was a gargantuan, wood-framed set, probably dating back to the early '50s.
He also put together his own HI FI and did I mention he was a radar tech in the USAF and even taught engineering... he spent a lot of time at Thule when I was growing up, so when he came home I was a curious lil devil constantly messing with his oscillators and tubes (not related to TEH TUBES)
So there were no white punks on dope around there? ;)
