I hope for one thing when people go to vote: that they look at Baracks background, that they look at the age of the two candidates, that they look at their abilities and really open up their hearts and say whats really good for my kids, who dont have any color awareness. Kids dont think about race. Think like your kids for once. Think the way they think. It would be great if the older people in the country, the 70 year olds, the 80 year olds who are suspicious of change to say, you know, why dont I think the way my kids are thinking and think about the future. Whatever they decide, just open up your heart to this prospect of something different. Thats what I hope we do.
Of course, as Morrissey points out, what Matthews is really saying is that he wants us to vote for Obama because he is half-black. Hes saying that people shouldnt care about race and they should just vote for Obama because hes so clearly better qualified. But how is he better qualified? That is continually unclear except that he does better than John McCain at sending shivers up Matthews leg.

I don't see it's any different than voting for someone because he's white.
It's really easier that way.
Hmmm, I wonder if he’ll choose a black VP nominee? If not, why not?
He has been more than adequately educated. Now, he needs to acquire the experience and wisdom that will make it viable.

By what standard? I am underwhelmed by him.
Okay, okay. Have it your way. At least he reads well.;-)

I guess I can’t dispute that, even though he seems to understand very little of what he reads. He reminds me of what my Navy buddy used to say forty six years ago about a sailor who kept his hat covering one eye, “So he won’t see more than he can understand.”
Are you sure we’re not married??? John, is that you??? ;-)
Nope, my name ain’t John and my wife does not post on FR. 80)
