Chrissy Matthews Advocates Affirmative Action for the Presidency

I hope for one thing when people go to vote: that they look at Barack’s background, that they look at the age of the two candidates, that they look at their abilities and really open up their hearts and say “what’s really good for my kids,” who don’t have any color awareness. Kids don’t think about race. Think like your kids for once. Think the way they think. It would be great if the older people in the country, the 70 year olds, the 80 year olds who are suspicious of change to say, “you know, why don’t I think the way my kids are thinking and think about the future.” Whatever they decide, just open up your heart to this prospect of something different. That’s what I hope we do.

Of course, as Morrissey points out, what Matthews is really saying is that he wants us to vote for Obama because he is half-black. He’s saying that people shouldn’t care about race and they should just vote for Obama because he’s so clearly better qualified. But how is he better qualified? That is continually unclear except that he does better than John McCain at sending shivers up Matthews’ leg.

And at least Andrew Sullivan doesn’t beat around the bush about what he thinks.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Obama has a mysterious and in some ways despicable background, he's a young neophyte, he has no real abilities to speak of, and he'll be horrible for our children.

The 70 and 80 year olds ought to tell this jerk that this country is more concerned about race than when they were kids.

There are too many illogical statements in the brief paragraph to properly dissect. First, I know of no 70 or 80 year-olds who have children who are too young to be racially conscious. Second, the fact that with age comes wisdom, if the senior citizen is half trying, would preclude just thinking like the “kids” do. Were that the case, we'd all just have ice cream and soda for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Third, most of us over the age of 55 have seen up close and personal the results of affirmative action (”AA”).

While I believe AA has been the most effective of all programs for disadvantaged blacks, I have seen the results of 30 years of hiring “management material” who feel they are being discriminated against when asked to perform at the level the rest of the staff is expected to perform. I find that the only thing puts the finishing touches on the fine educations acquired (in Medicine, Law and Business) is the experience obtained through fellowships, internships and then a few years of kick-a$$ performance with no racial discrimination gauntlet being thrown down.

Senator Obama has received an exquisite education, but he has not yet put in his time in the trenches. In five to ten years of service in the Senate with some weighty assignments, I'd say the guy has game. Right now, he's still working on his lay-up and running the greatest power in the world is not a slam-dunk.

One thing I would never do in a million years is allow my children to sit in a church where the pastor rants against this great country. Where the pastor shouts, no no no god damn America.

Think like your kids for once

Well, the ONLY reason why Obama gets any support is because too many adults think like children!

It's very simple: adults that think and act like children support Obama. And the left is mad that the rest of us won't give up being responsible adults.

Don’t listen to kids. Kids are stupid. That’s why we don’t let them vote.

Yea Chrissy, Mr trembly knees, I will vote like my kid.
My 13 year old daughter persuaded me to attend a John McCain town hall in Greenfield WI several months ago. Between the two, it was her choice, if she were able to vote. Mr Matthews, dont underestimate childrens intelligence.

Good news: Americans oppose racial preferences -

When a policy is described as “affirmative action,” polls show an almost even split in support and opposition. In contrast, a Newsweek poll last summer showed that Americans oppose “racial preferences” by a margin of 82%—14%. The opposition to “racial preferences” also includes a plurality of blacks.

Last week, Jon Stewart on The Daily Show got an enthusiastic reception from his audience with a routine about Obama’s media entourage. Stewart tossed to the team of reporters who were said to be traveling with the Obama campaign, some of whom had abandoned John McCain to cover the more exciting Democrat. They were positively giddy about Obama.

“The commander-in-chief,” said one.

“Did you see when the president hit that three-pointer?” asked another.

“Nothing but net,” said a third.

Stewart interrupted. “He’s not the president.” Pause.“Barack Obama’s not the president.”

A confused silence. “Are you sure?” the reporters asked.

Stewart wondered whether the reporters were “nervous that this maybe plays into the idea of the press being a little Obama-centric, a little sycophantic.” Not at all, they said, exchanging stories of this or that treasured contact with the Great One. A moment later, Stewart asked what they learned during the trip.

“I’ll tell you something, Jon,” said one. “Barack Obama kinda gives me a boner.”

Stewart dutifully faked embarrassment and exasperation. “Anything else?” he asked. All the others raised their hands. They, too, were, well, thrilled to be in Obama’s presence.

“I’m not talking about boners,” Stewart said.

“Seriously,” said one last reporter. “They should call this guy Barack O-Boner.”

“Think like your kids for once. “

BS call to be caught up in the Obama hype.

Message to the under-30 ‘kids’: VOTE LIKE YOUR PARENTS FOR ONCE.

“But isn’t voting for someone because he’s black demonstrating that race is the most important characteristic to you?” Yes. Anyone voting for Obama because of his color is voting based on racism.

Matthews is advocating that, as we approach the voting booth, we adults abandon everything we have learned about integrity, truth, committment, honesty, patriotism, and traditional values and simply become child-like and just simply pull the lever for Obama because he is half-black.

What a crock of horse manure!

That horse manure just happens to be the Obama campaign in a nutshell. Disregard every ounce of common sense you have acquired over the years, close your eyes and vote for hope and change.

You are so right, Carley, Obama did hang in there with Jeremiah Wright for twenty years. Do not vote for Obama unless you want the USA to give up her Sovereignty and go under the UN. Obama wants now the whole world to go under a poverty program supported by the USA with 845 billion.
USA is fighting now in Afghanistan and Iraq, and we are trillions of dollars in debt. We do not need another noose around our neck. We are unable to take care of our own people. Read Senate bill 2433. GovTrack S_ 2433 Text of Legislation.mht
This is the change that Obama has to offer.

I have seen no reason to date to believe that Obama has received anything approaching an education.
