The difference is I don’t equate Presidential vanity with greatness. Policy and leadership are what counts not rock star speeches or “excitement.” There are plenty excited about McCain they just don’t always voice up on here because there is such a history of anti-McCainism.

But Master Norman, I thought you were a McCain supporter.

“There are plenty excited about McCain they just don’t always voice up on here because there is such a history of anti-McCainism.”

I can tell you this - I honestly don’t know anyone who is excited about McCain. I am with many conservative evangelicals in nearly every walk of life most days. I am also in touch with secular conservatives in the business field. No one I talk to seems excited at all about McCain. What I normally hear is “Well, he’s far better than Obama.” or “He is a war hero” or something like that.

The only good news I can report is that many of the democrats I know, who happen to be more blue collar, union type democrats, can’t stand Obama and they do seem genuinely interested in McCain - more so than my Republican friends.
