” I am a 1968 baby.”

hey! me too! Happy 40th!

When I discussed the autism/ppd issue with my pediatrician, he made some good points.

He said when we were growing up “autism” was not a term used to refer to kids we said were “retarded” or “slow” or “special education.”

He said it’s the same group of kids, only we know more about what is going in their brains after studying them for a few decades.
So, he doesn’t seem to think there is such an increase in autism, as there has been a shifting in terms of describing symptoms.

I remember one particular kid in junior high that we called “spaceman”. He used to walk down the hallway humming to himself always with one shoulder brushing against the wall.
Never spoke to anyone, never looked people in the eye.

But he would sit in class, take a test, and get 100%.
He would beat the pants off everyone academically.

We called him “weird”. We thought maybe he was on drugs.
But now looking back, I’ll bet he was autistic.

Just what the liberals want you to believe, you score well on a test, you are autistic. I am not saying that kids are not autistic and I think Mr. Savage pointed this out very clearly, but way too many kids are being diagnosed for simple things that I use to do, and I function just fine. I have 8 years of higher education, and ......never mind, i won't bore you with my biography, just to say, I do well. So that being said, has anyone been to a doctor lately? And this is a point I am trying to make here. Alot of them are not really sociable when it comes to patient care. I am sure that people on this forum has had a doctor that was so smart that he didn't have common sense. Should they self prescribe medication because they have autism or maybe what people find normal, isn't really normal to them. Just because they don't listen to rap or they enjoy the opera, or spend their waking hours studying, doesn't make them autistic. That whistling kid probably didn't care too much for what was going on around him, so he didn't react normally or the same as you. I just wish people would follow the money and the sources of where this phenomena is stemming. To put it bluntly, and this is my opinion, isn't it easier to control a nation that is medicated, or people who think for themselves? You make the call, every child that is medicated for no purpose is a step closer to a that one world government that Barack is so openly talking about.
