Oh I can see it now, for some reason Obama isn't able to serve as President, and President Ann Veneman will step up to the plate and reassure America and the world that the fate of our Nation is just like Allstate, "we're in good hands"...
*CRASH* !!!!

Yet another “jump the shark” moment of incredulity.

“The West Wing” was good for some things. In the last couple episodes, with the Vice President-elect having assumed room temperature on election day, the Jimmy Smits President Elect character asks his GOP opponant (Alan Alda) whether he’d “consider” being appointed to the Vice Presidency.
Alan Alda’s character goes on a nice little rant (yes, Alan Alda can also be useful for some things) about the whole “consideration” thing being just so much political/PR horsesh ... pies, and lays out exactly WHY.

He’s probably looking at her because of UNICEP

why would he do that I thought repubs were a dying breed, maybe not.

I hate to say this, but the fact that this lady is even under consideration is testimony to the fact that President Bush has unfortunately made some attrocious appointments.
Also, the fact that this woman is employed by the UN is very telling.
As an aside, I would be devastated if General Jones was Obama’s running mate. I hope he is not an Obama supporter. I know he is on the board of the US Chamber of Commerce, a group that has not been supportive of US national security interests.

Ms. Veneman is a California Lawyer technocrat without substantial GOP recognition. If Obama is worried about California, he must be in BAD shape.

...the biggest part of the USDA’s efforts these days is food stamps...maybe that would be part of any Obama interest...you know if he gets in we’ll see a huge increase in government programs.

I think so too.. What we are not seeing the internals and they are not good for Obama..

Obama: more arrogant than Bill Clinton, more naive than Jimmy Carter, and more liberal than LBJ.You have nailed it! I detest Obama more then any other candidate for President ever and I didn't think that was possible.

It would make sense. There isn't a Democrat good enough for the job . . .
Besides, being an empty suit, Obama cannot pick anyone that won't overshadow him, so if he picks a Republican, the press can feel free to rip her a new one.
On the other hand, it might tick off the Dem women that he couldn't find a Dem woman to put on the ticket.

You have nailed it! I detest Obama more then any other candidate for President ever and I didn't think that was possible. Mega-dittoes! He is the most detestable candidate (except for John MacCain) we've ever had run for The Presidency.
Just when you thought we couldn't get a worse pair of opponents than Poppy Bush and Mike Dukakis, both parties pull out these clowns.

You cant have Veneman without enema. Hahaha! For this reason alone, I hope Obama picks her.

More proof that the GOP is about as conservative as the DNC.

Sebelius is also from the Midwest, a woman, a Democrat and not ugly. I don’t know why Obama wouldn’t just pick her.
