Republican presidential candidate John McCain's short list of vice presidential possibilities has been essentially narrowed to six, according to a source familiar with the search.
Factions within the Arizona senator's campaign are pushing for their favored candidate, sources tell the Phoenix Business Journal, a Baltimore Business Journal sister publication.

Lieberman and Powell aren’t serious names.
Even if McCain would pick Powell, is there even a hint he would take it? Doubtful.
Is Ridge really THAT popular in PA that he would “guarantee” PA as some say? I can’t imagine it.

All in all, I dislike McCain more and more no matter what he does.

Agreed. I’d be stunned if its either Lieberman or Powell. I expect it to be Romney, with Palin as a possible upset pick. Ironically, if she’s his pick, I think he wins in a landslide this fall.

Colin Powell would be a non-starter for me and thus my desire to vote for McCain. He does that, I’m out of the voting booth.

Palin isnt a Rhino.Did I say she was? There's a Democrat, Colin Powell, and multiple RINOs on the list. And, McCain's closest advisers do not seem like the type to pick a non-RINO like Palin.
That, and, in all honesty, I wouldn't wish a McCain ticket on her.

Two are acceptable (OK, three. I won’t throw up with Mitt either) but the truth is if he picked Rudy who then campaigned in a dress I’d still crawl over hot coals to vote for him. I do not want Barry Hussein.

they’d definitely have the senior market covered, LOL

From the list, I prefer Mitt first, and... My second choice is Sarah Palin.
That said, I cordially yield to my colleagues on this august fourm.
