McCain gives the same speech to all the Hispanic groups and on the stump trying to pander to get their votes. As he usually does, McCain blurs the line between legal and illegal. You have be here legally to serve in the military.

And McCain likes to create the phony strawman that anyone who is against his amnesty plan is a bigot and nativist. Moreover, he likes to be a martyr on the issue and that he showed great courage in supporting it, e.g., he almost lost the nomination. What is unsaid but implied, is that the GOP is the party of bigots since the Dems support amnesty overwhelmingly. McCain never mentions such concepts as the Rule of Law.

I will repeat what I said.

The question was asked why McCain was referencing a Hispanic who fought in Vietnam. The answer had nothing to do with amnesty the answer had to do with the fact that he was talking to a group of Hispanic veterans. I never said anything about citizenship. You people thought you had tasted blood in water when you saw the reference to a Hispanic soldier and you wanted to post Juan Hernandez’s pictures up without realizing to whom McCain spoke.
