I agree with you. Especially without any substance to fall back on. A great athlete or business person can fall back on the work that they do, or on their family, and try to keep the adulation in perspective. He can't turn to his family. He hasn't accomplished anything, so he can't resort to realistic self-assessment. His job, it appears, it to be a demagogue. Adulation is his currency.
This guy is actually much worse than I originally thought. And the media is making him into a monster. I get a sense though, that this Euro trip may actually end up being a jump the shark moment for Obama. He's overplaying his hand. I really don't think Americans are going to go for it. In the end, they'll turn to McCain.
