“First, oil imports are not the cause of high gasoline prices”

People say this all the time and I have yet to hear a logical explaination. If you want to say that the oil refineries are part of the problem, fine, but to argue oil and gas prices are not tightly related is a waste of time.

[ Virtually every claim made by T. Boone Pickens to justify the lavish subsidies he is seeking for his wind energy investments is flat wrong. ]

And he knows it..

Second, we are no more forced to rely on the "goodwill" of foreign oil producers when we shop for petroleum than we are forced to rely on the "goodwill" of supermarkets when we shop for eggs and milk.

Really? How many supermarket cartels are there that intentionally restrict the price of eggs? How many supermarket cartels tell the POTUS to get stuffed when he goes begging for more eggs? Please.

I looked at pickensplan.com and didn’t find a single sentence on how he will store wind electric when the wind don’t blow, or how he’ll store solar electricity when the sun don’t shine. A fatal flaw.

Back up, redundancy, is absent. He’s an empty 80 year old suit co-opted by Al Gore look-alikes to make a bundle on speculations.

I've come to the conclusion that Pickens is a real scumbag for trying to rip off taxpayers for his personal enrichment while pretending to be some patriot.

I wish Mr. Pickens well in his wind energy business, but I see
no reason why taxpayers, ratepayers or consumers ought to be
forced to sacrifice in order to fatten his already ample
bank account.

IF the current bump in cost of electricity in Texas increases
apace (as documented by a front AND back page WSJ article last
week)...
this guy might be saying "Texas should have taken T. Boone's
offer when they had the chance".

After a fair number of Texas-based businesses decamp for states
like Alabama or Georgia for lower electricity costs.

T. Boone is a self-professed capitalist.
I've never heard him call himself some sort of saint or moralist.
But he's at least trying to find a way from having more and more
of our economy fund Jihad and less-than-friendly entities from
buying up the USA with money WE send to them via our gas tanks.

Which is more than I can say for a phalanx of politicians and
CEOs!

T. Boone Pickens is out to make a fast buck at the expense of the American taxpayer. I live in an area filled with hundreds of wind turbines. This is one of the greatest hoaxes perpetrated on us. You have to have oil, gas, coal, hydro or nuclear generating stations to provide power when the winds do not blow. Plus, even though the wind is free, it costs MORE to generate electricity by wind than by any other means. Ask yourself how that can be.

Wind energy receives 100 times the subsidies that oil does for energy production per KWH. Sources: Energy Information Administration, Forms EIA-906, "Power Plant Report;" Form EIA-920, "Combined Heat and Power Plant Report;" October 2006-September 2007.

Funny how the left is in love with this 80 year old man with tax subsidies dancing in his head, but disrespects the 71 year old McCain.

i cannot stand his commercial... since the first time i heard it, i call out, “liar, liar, liar!” to all his claims... such as, “this is one emergency we cannot drill our way out of.” i knew he was in it for himself...
