I doubt if the Reserve would supply this country for a week.

Oh, I totally agree. It just appalls me that Nancy and her obstructionist pals assure us that drilling (i.e., increasing the supply) will not decrease the price, then she'll attempt a stab at increasing the supply to...wait for it...decrease the price!

If there were any creative forces left in the RNC (say, someone with more than two brain cells to rub together), they could easily spin this as Nancy admitting that we CAN, in fact, drill our way out of this.

The days of the Rats getting something for nothing are over. There's one cure that Rats have refused to budge on, Expanded Domestic Drilling and when they give in to the expanded domestic drilling then the GOP will probably give up on their opposition to tapping into the SPR and the Speculator bill.

The bill recveived a majority of votes but failed to receive the 2/3 majority needed to pass it under a suspension of the rules procedure. The Rats brought it up via suspension of the rules because if they had offered it the normal way, where a majority of votes would have passed it, the bill could have been amended and the Pubs would have added an amendment to allow offshore drilling. The bill would have then passed but Pelosi & the Rat leadership couldn’t allow that.

I agree. I do wonder about what winter will bring for those who heat with oil. At current level, I'm looking at a cost of between $5000 to $6000 for the winter.

replace it with heavy, sour crude.

...which, BTW, is what most of Venezuela's oil is.

Yes, gas prices at election will likely be $3.50. Heating oil $4.50 cents (heavy crude). As it gets colder closer to November, it will be very easy for McCain in the debates to finger the Democratic led Congress for there lack of adding energy supply.

There will be casualties this winter. In New Hampshire, the first recipients of oil assistance are last years recipients first. The new people such as my mother in law, come afterwards. I will be assisting her personally because I am not going to let her freeze but boy does it irk me she was attempting to convince me to vote Obama.

Diddling with the makeup of the SOR is pi**ing in the wind. These demos are people that can’t understand getting new oil out of the ground and they are suddenly oil investment analysts? Nancy wouldn’t know light/sweet from heavy/sour if it rained on her. They can’t accomplish the simplist of congressional actions but feel confident micromanaging the mix of an underground pool???? Give me a break. Incidently, Iran has almost 80 tankers off their coast filled with heavy crude cause it ain’t sellin’ in this market. So we’re supposed to buy Iran’s or Venezuala’s crap and pay for it by selling off emergency supplies of the “good” stuff??? Stupid fools.

To me, it has grown beyond stupid. It is treason against the people of the United States. This Congress puts Marion Antionette and King George III to shame.
