Obama's Media Myrmidons

According to the most recent Rasmussen survey, "49 percent of voters believe most reporters will try to help the Democrat with their coverage ... Just 14 percent believe most reporters will try to help Mr. McCain ... a plurality of Democrats - 37 percent - say most reporters try to offer unbiased coverage of the campaign. Twenty-seven percent believe most reporters are trying to help Mr. Obama and 21 percent in Mr. Obama's party think reporters are trying to help the Republican candidate. Among Republicans, 78 percent believe reporters are trying to help Mr. Obama and 10 percent see most offering unbiased coverage. As for unaffiliated voters, 50 percent see a pro-Obama bias and 21percent see unbiased coverage. Just 12percent of those not affiliated with either major party believe the reporters are trying to help McCain." (Emphasis mine)

The poll was published just as a controversy arose because the New York Times refused to run a commentary piece written by John McCain, yet ran one by Barack Obama. Even liberal media critics, such as Howard Kurtz, are complaining about the fawning and disproportionate reportage media outlets such as NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC are giving Mr. Obama's visit to the Middle East while they virtually ignored Mr. McCain's trip.

The media watchdog group, Media Research Center (MRC), cited an example of the sycophancy by the major broadcast news networks. MRC wrote, "Good Morning America co-host Diane Sawyer on Monday quizzed John McCain on whether the media are gushing too much over Barack Obama'

Yesterday, Freeper LostInBayport posted that the November Election will be as much a national referendum on the liberal MSM as it is on the POTUS. I think he’s on to something; the media is clearly in the tank for Obama, and if Obama does not win, then the MSM is clearly discredited.

It is a laugh to think of the media as Myrmidons. They get upset if a conservative clears his throat. Their minds are duller than their pens.

What this comes down to is a battle of Word (conservative talk radio/blogs) v. Image (broadcast media).

The winner will have captured both.

The Kingfish also believes that Fox News is out to get him. I sincerely hope he is right. However, of all of the MSM I think Fox News provides the best news presentation and is the most nonpolitical.

to show how bad it is with the media, has everyone seen the clip where the girl reporters are screaming at the stewardesses to move because they are blocking their view of what they think is Obama’s Willie given the way his pantsleg is positioned.

Leftist Jungle Fever...that sounds silly but’s actually a lot of it.

sick bunch of pups many Americans have become

no wonder he calls them “sweetie”

“if Obama does not win, then the MSM is clearly discredited.”

This is precisely why the MSM isn’t even trying to dress up its bias as news. It’s a referendum on the MSM’s future.
