Sorry, in SC, if Huckabee weren’t in it his voters would have went to Fred.

But thats just not how it happened. Huckabee did have a right to run didn’t he? I just don’t see the sense in saying if someone else wern’t in it, my guy would have won.

Pointless.

“Pointless.”

Actually, the discussion isn’t pointless. We’re picking presidential nominees on one voting day, with no runoff no matter how close the vote was. And the mix of apportioned and winner-take-all states makes this method even less likely to serve up a consensus candidate. And this is all even worse when there are four or five viable candidates.

So, maybe you’re like to suggest that states also begin electing their governors, senators, congressmen and other elected officials without runoff votes?

The point is genius that McCain only won 33% of the vote. He is not the choice of most Reps, which is why he is going to depress Rep turnout. Also, the fact that we have a candidate who is for amnesty, the implementation of a cap and trade system to combat manmade global warming, against drilling in ANWR, and for closing Gitmo takes many issues off the table that could have been used against Obama. Romney’s position on those issues represents the views of most Reps. McCain does not.
