Sorry to disappoint you. The man was a pedestrian crossing in the crosswalk with the green light in his favor.

The man splayed onto Novak’s windshield. Novak drove away. When finally stopped he simply said he hadn’t seen the pedestrian.

Well, that begs the question... When is a pedestrian no longer a pedestrian? If he was splayed across BN's windshield, wouldn't he then be considered a commuter?

But was he was crossing against the flashing "Don't Walk" signal? The "green light" tells us nothing.
