It's a historical fact that the vast majority of deaths at Bergen-Belsen were from Typhoid, in fact I believe around a quarter died after the camp was liberated. Work/concentration camp vs death camp is a distinction in methodology. Work camps were designed to kill their inmates through attrition, from disease and inadequate diet. It’s genocide in either case, were it not, the Ukraine and Armenia would simply be unfortunate incidents.
I don’t know much about , but there’s little question in my mind that genocide was carried out at some level by both sides. In fact genocide doesn’t even require murder, the cleansing of Prejidor (Muslims and Catholics) would qualify irrespective of the fate of those cleansed.
