Well, antibiotics don’t do a darn thing for viral illnesses.

Coming: Only Moslems will be tested for beta-strep.
Only Moslems in UK will get medical care.
The dhimmis ... will get what they deserve.

I wonder if they can still purchase vitamins there? Olive Leaf Extract works great for sinus/upper respiratory issues.

Has anybody noticed that the abbreviation is the same as for the National Institute for Coordinated Experiments?

Socialized medicine means DYING IN LINE!
The concept makes liberals feel good, because everybody has an insurance card.
The fact that nobody is able to receive medical care, is of no consequence to them.

In 2007, GPs wrote 38 prescriptions for antibiotics, costing the Health Service £175million. I think we found the problem, here. What do these prescriptions cost, 5 million each?

Cheap, antiquated, treatment is allowed.
Effective, new treatment is not.

Strep Throats and Sore Throats go hand in hand. Not necessarily. Sore throats can be caused by viruses, allergies, chemical irritants, or even excessive talking. A good Dr. will not treat for strep without a positive culture or other indication of bacterial infection. The overuse of antibiotics is a serious problem, which is putting all of us at risk of developing untreatable infections.

This all sounds strange. Are they suggesting that UK docs withold antibiotic meds from people who have strep throat? Do they take throat cultures or were UK docs prescribing antibiotics to anyone with a sore throat?

FWIW, I think this is a way to keep docs from prescribing antibiotics for viral illnesses.

Hello? See the post above. Antibiotics will not do anything for viral infections (colds), and, as the article points out (at least the part I read) inappropriately prescribed antibiotics are the probable cause of "superbugs" like MRSA.
Now, if the docs are being stopped from treating strep with antibiotics, that is a different matter. Somehow, I don't think this is happening.

That’s what I was trying to get at. It appears they were prescribing antibiotic meds for viral infections. Not a good idea.
