If that were me, the she/he who spit would take in future meals through a straw for the res of his/her life.
Spitting at another person is the action to show hatred so deep there are no words that can be expressed to equal the hate. It is the physical act to say I would kill you. I would respond to that person and make sure it was the last spitting event it ever attempted. Just fowl and disgusting.
