U.S. lawyer urges Iran to sue over nukes Tehran | July 23, 2008 12:01:13 AM IST
A University of Illinois law professor says he has offered to represent Iran if it decides to sue the United States over threatened nuclear program sanctions.
Iran's Press TV reported Tuesday that Francis Boyle, an international law expert, is urging Iranian leaders to sue Israel and the United States through the International Court of Justice in The Hague over their ultimatum that Iran freeze its nuclear enrichment program in a matter of weeks or face further sanctions.
If Iran decides to sue, he told the broadcaster, he would represent the country.
My proposal was that Iran should sue these states immediately, convene an emergency hearing by the World Court, and ask the court to indicate provisional measures of protection on behalf of Iran against the United States, Israel and the EU-3 -- basically a temporary restraining order, Boyle said.
He told Press TV such a lawsuit would discourage a military attack on Iran's nuclear facilities and prevent the imposition of new sanctions by the U.N. Security Council.
Right when you think lawyers can’t sink any lower....
Asshat. Deport him to Iran so he can represent them properly at the world court.
“Right when you think lawyers cant sink any lower....’
Only possible because it is a college professor/lawyer.
I wonder if it has a greasy ponytail and a Che T shirt.
Can someone sue him for “hate crimes” or treason or anything to get rid of this punk.
looking for his 15 mins of fame
Lawyers are only a small part of the overall problem. ... judges and jury enablers are the real problem
Agreed.
I want to make a CITIZEN’S ARREST of Mr. Boyle. Any patriotic lawyer want to help me?
I wonder if Francis “Boil” is aware of the Logan Act. Seems to me it is time to use that law against these usurpers. Only the President has the authority under the Constitution to conduct foreign policy.
“...jury enablers are the real problem...”
With race and class warfare on their minds.
Is it time for professional jurors? This democratization thing, like all pure democracies, has been an utter disaster for our legal system.
This is the sort of thing that sooner or later is going to have serious consequences in the future in terms of diplomatic relations. We have a lot of people stepping out of line by using a high profile position to meet heads of state and attempt to dictate how our and their governments should handle things.
Back on topic, I think something needs to be done to get this stuff under control. At what point are we going to start holding trials for high treason for these sort of shenanigans?
“imagine the outcry if there were actually something to complain about.”
So many of these people wish he would because it would give them something to get hysterical about.
"Hello. I AM Francis Boyle and you're not!
