This is not an inexplicable problem if you have had psychoanalytic training.

Freud once said (never published it) that when it comes to women, all men are dumb. Men before and since this was said have proved Freud right over and over again.

Even if he never said it, and I have been known to make things up, is there anyone who really disputes this assertion?
