Back pre-9/11 I listened to Savage some and appreciated that he spoke out against illegal immigration long before 9/11 gave some more famous talk show hosts the cover and courage to speak out against it.

But he does cross the line too often. He seems to have a career death wish at times. Making those statements about autism is just nutty. Those statements can be made about ADD and probably be applicable in many cases, but I think he’ll find few who think than can be applied to autism.

I wish he’d get control of himself and eliminate the statements that can and will eventually cost him his career. He does say some things that need to be said that few others will say. but...

I like the fact that Savage is a bit of a wild card. He is brilliant and yet sometimes I can’t stand to listen to him
some days and turn him off. Of all the conservative talk show hosts Savage quotes and reads from the Bible more than anyone by far! He may be wacky at times but we definitely need his voice in the mix on the airwaves!

I try to stay optimistic, but is there anything left in this country we can have a dissident opinion on? I feel sometimes as if I woke up in some sort of strange parallel universe where we lost the Cold War.

Savage only appears to be crossing the line because the country keeps moving leftward and becoming a new Soviet style 'UNION' where only 'approved unoffensive' speech will be acceptable.

Savage won't change because he speaks from the heart and on principle and he will not compromise that just to be in lockstep to the mandates of today's PC culture.

He's basically accomplished everything in radio that he needs to and at his age he can now afford to retire so he has nothing really to lose if he wants to go down fighting on principle.
