McCain's, Obama's 'pandering' lost on most Hispanic voters
OneNewsNow ^ | 21 July 2008 | Chad Groening

California-based immigration reform activist Rick Oltman says he is continually amazed that both presidential candidates continue to pander to Hispanic voters as if they are one huge monolithic voting bloc.

...Oltman, national spokesman for Californians for Population Stabilization, says most voters vote based on income level. "The average wage for Hispanic Americans in California is at the poverty level. People who are low income workers, when they vote, tend to vote Democrat," Oltman contends. "So all of this pandering for the Hispanic American vote over the fact that somebody is going to offer an amnesty that allows illegal aliens to stay is completely wasted."

Puerto Rican and Cuban Hispanics, according to Oltman, cannot be lumped in with Hispanics from Mexico. "Puerto Rican Americans, mostly in the Northeast, they couldn't care less about illegal alien Mexicans getting drivers licenses. You're not going to motivate them to vote for you by offering amnesty. Cuban Americans are also American citizens," Oltman explains. "And what do they care about? They care about Cuba. They don't care about illegal aliens in the Southwest and what kind of benefits they're going to get."

Hell, McCain wanted to practically give the country away to Mexico. One would think the Latinos would be a bit more appreciative.

If only Jorge and Carlos had had the common sense to understand that the Republican party might have been spared a pointless and very damaging seven year internal fight over amnesty. They could or would never admit that they were fighting to give amnesty to millions of natural Democrat voters.

But this still hasn’t been learned, as Juan McCain so recently demonstrated. Republicans pushing amnesty is the dumbest political move made by a major party probably since the Democrats became so anti-war and nominated McGovern.

You mean you don’t see the brilliance of the Rove-Bush-McCain strategy? Invite millions of Third Worlders with fourth grade educations into the country. Make sure that these are people with a high craving for government services, a long list of racial grievances, and a history of voting Marxist back in their homeland. It’s a sure thing that they’ll be “natural Republican voters”, right?

I nominate that post for the "Best Post of the Week" award.

Lol. Yep, I missed it entirely, and am still missing why McCain or anyone else would continue this suicide strategy. There is some Tex-Mex virus that infects these border state politicians which makes them unable to objectively assess the result of making citizens of millions of illegals that fit the description you provided.

Obama’s speech to La Raza:

(La Raza (The Race), Largest Hispanic organization in the U.S.
Lobbies for racial preferences, bilingual education, stricter hate crimes laws, mass immigration, and amnesty for illegal aliens )

Obama pimps illegal aliens. SHAMEFUL, considering the additional violent crime, third word diseases they bring into this country and the billions of dollars it cost us to take care of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEITOQfKVmo
“I walked the walk. I talked the talk. I marched with you for “civil rights” of “immigrants”. (!!)
SHAMEFUL!

Obama said the recent Senate immigration debate “was both ugly and racist in a way we haven’t seen since the struggle for civil rights.”
SHAMEFUL!

Obama told La Raza that the mass protests lately for immigration rights of Mexicans is equal in greatness to the civil rights protest of the past!
SHAMEFUL!

Omama supports La Raza’s, the “DREAM Act,” which would mandate states to offer in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens — thus providing them with benefits not available to U.S. citizens from other states.
SHAMEFUL!

The Heritage Foundation ^ | 10/25/06 | Robert Rector
The National Academy of Sciences has estimated that each immigrant without a high school degree will cost U.S. taxpayers, on average, $89,000 over the course of his or her lifetime.[3] This is a net cost above the value of any taxes the immi*grant will pay and does not include the cost of educating the immigrant’s children, which U.S. taxpayers would also heavily subsidize. In this way, the roughly six million legal immigrants without a high school diploma will impose a net cost of around a half-trillion dollars on U.S. taxpayers over their lifetimes

"People who are low income workers, when they vote, tend to vote Democrat,"

Why? The Democrats are going to raise the federal income tax rate by allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire. Do low income people really like having a smaller paycheck?

The Chamber of Commerce and the cheap labor lobby crowd call the shots in the GOP, that's why. They don't give a damn about the tragic consequences of shamnesty to the nation as long as they get their slave labor market guaranteed to them.

Their tax rate won't increase, and their services will. Follow the money.

The entire federal income tax rate goes up with the Bush tax cuts expire and the child credit goes from $1000 down to $500 and the earned income tax rate goes from $37K back down to $25K. Low income will get hit hard.

Obama is a major redistributionist. There is NO way that the percentage of payments to the government will shift downwards on the income scale. The rich and upper middle-class will continue to be soaked.

Of course, this would require legislation in addition to the expiring cuts. But it seems plain to me that if Obama is elected, with a likely Democrat Congress, that he will reinstates the cuts he likes on the low end, and keep penalizing the high end.

Exactly. I was simply talking about the tax cuts expiring and the effect that would have. Obama would then have to pass new tax laws to take care of the low income who just got screwed by him allowing the tax cuts to expire. But the Democratic voters are dumb and think only the rich got those tax cuts so they may not notice they got screwed.
