Hillary can't be seen as having had anything to do with Obama's downfall before his crowning as the Presidential candidate at their convention. She wants his supporters to line up behind her, and they won't if she's responsible for removing him from the race on a "technicality."

If she's smart, she'll be outraged at the Right Wing Conspiracy that dethroned Obama and she'll promise to make things right by bringing the fight to the Right.
