I haven't even heard this story (about the meeting or the debunking). Would you elaborate or, better yet, provide a link? (Not that I'm doubting that Romney bent the truth; I'm just curious about the details.)

Romney has said he started opposing abortion rights in November 2004 after a conversation with a stem-cell researcher made him feel the value of human live had been diminished.

Hard to find this far down the road. What we saw at the time was an interview with one of the stem-cell researchers, the presenter, who denied Romney asked the questions he said he asked (backed up by others present.)

If you look at what “changed his mind,” it was that a fetus (8 days old) would be destroyed. How is that supposed to change his mind when he was all for the same fetus to be destroyed at an even later date?

His actions did not change to follow his words either, but that is another topic.
