"Mitt wants to close the borders."

The Truth declares otherwise.
First, not until 3 weeks before his Governorship ended, and after the Boston Globe
exposed him twice over as many years using illegal aliens at his Belmont mansion sanctuary.
Second, Myth Romney was so void of basis on this matter that he was forced to steal the issue
from Duncan Hunter, taking credit for Duncan Hunter's fence, without attribution.

Myth Romney taking credit for Duncan Hunter's fence, in Romney's flier (without attribution).

Mitt is much more Conservative than McCain. (According to his web site)

Mitt wants to close the borders. (Except for lawn staff)

Mitt is pro life.(Currently)

Mitt is pro-gun. (Except for assault weapons and a few minor other details, but he has only been an NRA member since he decided it could help him pass as a conservative with all you ignorant rednecks (oops, supposed to not say that))

Mitt is a whiz on the economy and drilling. He knows what to do to get us out of this mess. (Meant to say Mitt took a whiz on MA's economy and drilled it good with his "health care" plan)

Mitt will bring swing states like Michigan, Minnesota and many others. (We hope)

Mitt is a brilliant debater.(Indeed, one could say he is a Master Debater, or something along those lines) Mitt has always been against McCain-Feingold. (Now, don't ask about the praise he gave McCain when it first hit or his own version he touted, and please don't google the subject)

Mitt is supported by Tom Tancredo and many other Conservatives. (Who have to show a public face and considering there is a dearth of Conservatives on the national stage, pot luck it is...)

With all due respect to Jim Robinson... If we solely supported folks that met his strict definition of a good conservative, our ranks in congress would be so marginal, it’d be laugjable... He’s a strict conservative, and that’s fine, but it’s no way to decide how to vote on a state-wide election, let alone a national election... Just MHO

I have read that, three times in fact. But Buckley, god knows I love him, is dead, so “supports” no one...

And I would not say much about class, you have exposed yourself as one of the "bigotry" drifters, drifting to that defense, that safe haven, against those who rightfully disagree with you. So your arguments now have to be tempered with that in mind for the serious

I give them a little more credit, they are confused right now, times have been very good and that affords the luxury of dalliances into liberal, kumbaya politics for people who once identified with Reagan conservatism. So they blend that in with their mental politics and still claim Conservative as an ID.

They will be conservative again when the stuff hits the fan...

"Mitt is a whiz on the economy and drilling."

The truth will free most of us.

""(Romney's) first budget, presented under a cloud of a $2 billion deficit, balanced the budget with some spending cuts,
but a $500 million increase in various fees was the largest component of the budget fix."
[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]
Romney was rated a "C" overall by Cato.

As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal.

I tend to agree with you (OMG)..

But the flip side is true to, if we blindly, among ourselves, keep touting weaker and weaker candidates as full blown conservatives, we oursleves will have dilouted and lost that very definition. It is ok to vote strategically, but we must hold to reality. Conservatives are about to be called up again, things are tanking fast nationally, and it will take a real conservative to fix it. We best not lose the identity...

So, what you're saying is. With the GOP falling flat on their face, its okay for these moderate and liberals to abandon conservatism in favor of policies that more closely mirror the loyal oppositions leftwing agenda.

In the mean time, as they patiently wait for the GOP to once again embrace conservatism, its okay to embrace Mitt Romney.

Whatever. LOL

Well, that is GWD's fault. He should have proposed a $726 billion "fee" increase to make Willard happy.

...those polls indicate that many Republicans don’t know what conservatism is all about.

What fools these very conservative GOP Primary voters be, eh? They are just a bunch of rubes, bamboozled hair-brained, numbskulls. I shouldn't pay heed to the actual ballot choices of legions of very conservative Republicans voters, but rather to the rantings of a handful of Romney-obsessed, thread-spamming cranks at FR. Sounds good!

I've expanded the graphic of exit polls , to include GOP primaries from all regions of the country, and everywhere, the more conservative the voter, the more likely a Romney supporter (now I've got a graphic to spam Romney threads with!)

If any of you other Romney is a liberal drum beaters want to pony up and explain why you so much smarter than all these very conservative GOP Primary voters, go right ahead.
