From the moment Barack Obama appeared on America's national political stage, he was always going to be a controversial figure.
A half-white, half-black man with the poise and rhetorical flights of a Kennedy. A Harvard graduate abandoned by his Kenyan father to be raised by a single white mother. A man with the middle name Hussein running for the White House in post-9/11 America.
Yet, what few could have imagined was the degree of animus he would stir within America's own black community - and, in particular, its African-American leaders.
This week, it was revealed that the Rev. Jesse Jackson, for decades the dominant voice in black politics, had made an off-the-cuff remark into a TV microphone he thought was turned off that Obama was 'talking down to black people - telling n*****s how to behave'.
Jackson's remarks were prompted by a speech the Democrat Presidential candidate had made to a black church in which he dared to criticise young blacks for not completing school and being poor fathers.
'Too many fathers are Missing In Action. Too many blacks are AWOL, missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it,' Obama had said.
Jackson, a former Democrat Presidential candidate himself, has suddenly detonated the race issue which has stalked Obama's every step towards the White House. His use of the explosive N-word - commonplace among young blacks in rap music and entertainment - is extraordinary in a political context, and sent America's liberal commentators into paroxysms.
News bulletins carried warnings that viewers were about to hear a dreadful racial epithet.
Had any white public (or even private) figure used the N-word, they would have been destroyed overnight.

The believability of the article at your posted link is utterly invalidated by this single statement. I'll ignore its many and varied other idiocies.
No such document has ever been found, or ever will be found, since it never existed. It has been invented out of thin air by idiots such as the writer of this article.
The Mahdi Army was finally defeated in 1899. At that point the British army, navy and government had been continuously campaigning against slave trading for over 90 years. It was one of the few consistent policies followed by all British governments over this entire period. BTW, the US efforts against the slave trade were minimal, and often slavers hid behind the US flag to protect themselves against British search. Not our finest hour.
AAMOF, the Mahdist revolt itself in the Sudan was largely caused by British efforts to stamp out the slave trade there.
The idea that any Brit of the time, much less the Queen (!) would give anyone a license to continue slave trading is beyond parody.
FYI, Somalis are not Arabs. They speak a Cushitic language more closely related to various Ethiopian and other African Horn languages. Most of them are Muslim, but this does not make them Arabs, as most Arabs are thrilled to point out.
The "natural born" requirement was requested by George Washington to avoid international entanglements by birth exactly like that of Obama. In my opinion the requirement would apply no matter where Obama was born, because his father was not a citizen of the US. That is, the requirement is that both parents be citizens, or that the father is unknown, and thus ties no family heritage to the child. Obama's Dad is known, and he is Kenyan.
When Obama supported his cousin Odinga by travelling to Kenya and campaigning for him, Obama allied himself with the Muslim interests of his father's family's Luo Tribe.
With the Muslim's interest in kicking Jews out of Kenya and seizing their assets. With the Muslim interest in Sharia Law.
That was exactly the kind of foreign entanglement George Washington wished to avoid.

After all, he has Arab first and middle names.
That he converted to Islam and chose his names accordingly doesn’t seem to make any difference to them.
Presumably a Luo tribesman cousin who converted to Christianity and adopted John David as his first and middle names is therefore of English descent. Or possibly he’s Jewish, since Hebrew is the original provenance of these names.
My first name is Scottish, middle name is Greek, and last name is German. I wonder what ethnicity I am.
