As far as wee can manage, we don't buy
anything that was made in China. Even bypassed frozen Chinese "wild-caught red Pacific salmon" at something like $3 a pound --- cheaper than canned Alaska salmon --- even though, as a Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferer, I eat lots of salmon for the Omega-3's.
That's OK, It'd probably turn out to be catfish caught in the slime of the polluted Yangtze, with red food coloring for consumer satisfaction.

Can anyone identify a consumer product that can not be manufactured and processed in the United States?
I still like to picture an America which is self sufficient, inventive and creative enough to harvest, process, manufacture, distribute and sell any and every consumer product and necessity without the need to import one damn thing from the rest of the world.
An America that produces and supplies it's own consumer base with nothing but "Made in the USA" products not only would be more independent, it would put Americans needing jobs back to work in the manufacturing and distribution legs of the process, just to mention two major needs.
Our Nation can compete with, and surpass ANY foreign competitor, no matter the product, all that is needed is the political will to change the status quo.
I know, I know, nice fantasy.

They forgot Mexico.
On a recent trip, I was told that phony meds in parts of Mexico are more common than real ones.

Products proliferate along the Mekong Delta, notably in Cambodia, and local authorities appear bemused as to how to respond. Bemused - to cause to have feelings of wry or tolerant amusement.
Somehow I don't think that was the right word to use.

Why anyone with an ounce of sense would trust any product coming out of a Communist country is beyond me.
Is it a 'follow the money' or just a death wish for others that are not Communist.
