When I read that I asked myself the same- are they required to salute elected members of Congress?
I have to wonder what the soldier in the left foreground was thinking when the photo was shot.
Obama, potentially the next Commander in Chief.
Heaven help this country.
I saw the video briefly on FOX this morning and was shocked to see that ALL of the troops on the riser cheering madly were black. Not a white soldier in sight out of at least 50 or so. Interesting as far as it goes. At least we can assume attendance was voluntary.
Not that I don’t understand the special “wow factor” that attaches itself to the first serious black candidate for POTUS among blacks. And I’ve no idea how many of these troops will actually vote for him- too many I’m afraid. But if you look at an arguably more relevant control group of our soldiers, i.e. EVERYBODY ELSE, nobody showed up.
Probably just dared him to wear that Marine t-shirt again.
Unfortunately, I’d actually think it’s pure unadulterated adoration because he sees his footprint in history.
I do see what you mean! (erk!)
