U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will push for another economic stimulus package of approximately $50 billion.
The California Democrat told CNN she favors that amount as a compromise between spurring the stagnating U.S. economy without forcing the nation deeply into more debt.
I would hope we could have about a $50 billion -- there are others who want more, she said in a partial transcript released by the Speaker's office. But I think in the stimulus packages, you have to look at what helps stimulate the economy without spending more money than you should because you weight the economy down by going deeper into debt.
Pelosi has not given a timetable for passage of the stimulus package which she said could include helping states with Medicaid expenses, public works spending, food stamps, low-income heating assistance and tax rebates.
She’s trying to deflect the oil drilling issue by offering people more money. She really is an evil harpy.
Is she insane? These stimulus packages push us further into debt and ultimately don’t do anything. Cut spending and reduce taxes if you want “economic stimulus” you old hag.

This is becoming a joke. That’s all these guys can do? Print some money to send few bucks to the people. Who will pay interest on that money? Them? Since principal would NEVER be paid off, in long run we would pay more interest on 50 billion then whatever little money they are sending over.

Sounds right. $50 billion is 50,000 million and there are about 300 million people. 50,000 divided by 300 equals $166.67.
